Brief reviews and thoughts about children's and young adult books by Minnesota authors (or illustrators), or about Minnesota. If I get the urge, it may also include ideas for using the books in the classroom. The emphasis is on books published since 1995, but don't be surprised if an oldie-but-goodie slips in occasionally.

The End
It's a fairy tale, but not like any other you've read. This time you will read from the end of the story to the beginning. David LaRochelle and Richard Egielski have combined talents in this totally unique version of a fairy tale. It's fun to read (and study the detail in the pictures), fun for story time, and even could be used in language arts classes for sequencing activities.

Hi Donna,
Thanks for the nice post about THE END. I agree, Richard Egielski did a great job with his detailed illustrations; I'm still discovering new things when I look at the pictures!
If teachers are interested in using the book in their classrooms, I've included a teaching guide, along with writing and illustrating activities, at my website:

Thanks again for including my book on your blog!
Gratefully,
David LaRochelle
Thanks, Dave,
That is a good suggestion, and I'll try to check around for other teacher guides.
