Brief reviews and thoughts about children's and young adult books by Minnesota authors (or illustrators), or about Minnesota. If I get the urge, it may also include ideas for using the books in the classroom. The emphasis is on books published since 1995, but don't be surprised if an oldie-but-goodie slips in occasionally.

My Mother is Mine
This is a nice story for early childhood classrooms around Mother's Day. It includes a simple poem by Marion Dane Bauer and pastel illustrations by Peter Elwell, which show how mothers of all kinds take care of their young.
This poem is amazing, my students have 4 years old, and they learn this poem for mother's day... you can see the video when they rehearse for the presentation!!! www.missmariju.blogspot.com
